Press Release - Practice Caution in Heavy Showers; Short Term Forecast Issued for Guam

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam and Guam coastal waters. Through 2:30 p.m., heavy showers sit over Tamuning and parts of northern Guam. Although lightning is not detected, a brief thunderstorm is possible.

If driving, be alert for sudden downpours and water ponding on the roads. Mariners can expect low visibilities near these showers.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advise the community to practice caution while traveling in rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
