Press Release - NWS Issues Short Term Forecast; Be Alert for Sudden Downpours

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 3 p.m., scattered showers and thunderstorms will produce one to two inches of rain and occasional lightning across Guam and the adjacent coastal waters. Brief local flooding of roads and low-lying areas is possible.
If driving, be alert for sudden heavy downpours and for brief flooding of roads. Seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advise residents and visitors to practice extreme caution while traveling in rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
