No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Papua New Guinea Earthquake
The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 that occurred 67 km E of Kainantu, Papua New Guinea, with a depth of 61.4 km, at 9:46 a.m. (ChST).
As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to Guam or the Northern Marianas at this time.
