Practice Caution in Heavy Showers and Gusty Winds

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a special weather statement for Guam. Heavy showers with gusty winds are expected along a line extending from 25 miles east of Andersen AFB to 10 miles southwest of Merizo. Winds of 35 mph are possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include Dededo, Tamuning, Yigo, Mangilao, Ordot-Chalan Pago, Barrigada, Yona, Hagatna Heights, Andersen AFB, Talofofo, Mongmong-Toto-Maite, Sinajana, Inarajan, Asan, Merizo, Piti, Santa Rita, and Umatac. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to practice caution if traveling in these conditions.
