NWS Monitoring the Possibility of Tropical Development South of Guam Next Week; Stay Up to Date with Official Sources

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast office continues to monitor for any tropical development in the region.

While there is a lot of varying information circulating from unofficial sources regarding possible tropical development in the region near or south of Guam next week, NWS advises it is still too early to determine when and where any development will occur. At this time, development of a tropical cyclone in the broader western Micronesia region remains possible next week. However, forecast uncertainty remains high in regards to when and where development will occur.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to avoid the spread of misinformation. NWS will continue to monitor through the weekend, working closely with GHS/OCD to keep the community up to date.
