NWS Issues Short Term Forecast; Practice Caution on the Roadways

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 6 p.m., moderate to heavy showers will persist over the southwest coast of Guam from near Asan southward to Merizo, including Route 1. About a quarter inch of rain has fallen for the past hour and additional rainfall of a quarter inch is expected for the next two hours.

If driving, be alert for lower visibility and ponding of water on the roadways.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advise residents and visitors to practice extreme caution while traveling in rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
