NWS Advisories in Effect

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam has issued a short term forecast for Guam. Through 4:15 p.m., showers and thunderstorms will continue to drop locally heavy rain of up to an additional 1 to 3 inches across northern Guam, with brief local flooding likely in urban and poor-drainage areas. Occasional lightning has also been observed.

An urban and small stream flood advisory is in effect for northern Guam until 4:15 p.m. Up to 2 inches of rain has already fallen during the morning and early afternoon. An additional 1 to 3 inches is possible, causing urban and street flooding in poor drainage areas. Some locations that may experience flooding include Dededo, Tamuning, Yigo, Mangilao, Barrigada, and Andersen.

A thunderstorm advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport until 6 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

If driving, be alert for poor visibilities and water covering the road. Seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.
