Tropical Depression 14W Approaches Guam; Guam remains in COR 3

Tropical Depression 14W is 60 miles southeast of Guam, moving northwest toward Guam at 21mph. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Tropical storm conditions, including winds at least 39 mph, are expected over the next few hours.

At this time, Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 3. At COR 3, Government of Guam remains open and employees are expected to report to work on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

14W is forecast to intensify through tonight and is expected to become a tropical storm overnight. Once to the northwest of Guam, 14W is expected to continue intensifying over the Philippine Sea.

The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National Weather Service at 200 AM ChST early Wednesday morning followed by an intermediate advisory at 500 AM ChST.
