High Surf Advisory in Effect until 6am Friday

The National Weather Service (NWS), Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a high surf advisory, in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan, through 6 a.m. Friday.

Large breaking waves of 7 to 9 feet will build to 10 to 12 feet by Wednesday.

Currently along the south facing reefs of Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Surf will build to hazardous levels along west facing reefs by Thursday.

Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

These winds will be because of a monsoon surge flowing into the developing Invest area 95W, which is currently the subject of a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
