The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office advised gusty winds and dry vegetation will maintain a high fire threat.
A red flag warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday for Guam. East winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph over higher terrain, and humidity at 50 to 60 percent are expected. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Conditions will ease during nighttime hours, then return during the day. Refrain from outdoor burning.
A high risk of rip currents is in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan through late Sunday night for east facing reefs of the Marianas. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. If caught in a rip current, do not swim against the current. Swim in a direction following the shoreline, face the shore and call or wave for help.
