Tropical Depression Forms East of Guam

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam announced the formation of a tropical depression, 23W, located about 710 miles east of Guam.  There are no watches or warnings issued at this time.  However, NWS and GHS/OCD will continue to monitor the progress of TD 23W. 

NWS Advisories in Effect

high surf advisory remains in effect for the Marianas until 5:00am (ChST) Monday morning.
A small craft advisory is in effect for the Marianas until 5:00am (ChST) Saturday morning.

Weather Research Study Underway

A meteorologist from the National Weather Service – Guam Weather Forecast Office, Marcus Landon Aydlett, in coordination with the University of Alabama, Center for Advanced Public Safety, is conducting a weather communications research study called, “How do the People of Guam Receive their Weather Information.”
