Governor Leon Guerrero Signs Executive Order No. 2022-06

Today, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order No. 2022-06, relative to rescinding vaccination requirements for the government of Guam’s executive branch and amending outdoor social gathering restrictions. Executive Order No. 2022-06 orders such that effective immediately:

  • RESCINDING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OF GUAM EMPLOYEES: Section 1 of Executive Order No. 2021-17, which established vaccination requirements for Executive Branch employees of the government of Guam, is hereby rescinded, subject to applicable Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) guidance. Government agencies shall continue to comply with federal vaccination requirements, where applicable.

  • RESCINDING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS: Section l(a) of Executive Order No. 2021-23, which established vaccination requirements for interscholastic athletics, is hereby rescinded, subject to applicable DPHSS guidance.

  • SOCIAL GATHERINGS OR CONGREGATIONS: Outdoor social gatherings are not subject to numerical restriction, subject to applicable DPHSS guidance. Indoor social gatherings shall continue to be limited to no more than one hundred (100) persons, subject to applicable DPHSS guidance.

  • CONTINUED MASK-WEARING REQUIREMENTS: Individuals ages two (2) years or older are required to continue wearing masks in public, subject to applicable DPHSS guidance.

GCC Vaccination Clinic to Close, Moves to Agana Shopping Center Starting March 14

The COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at the Guam Community College (GCC) will close on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 5 p.m. This vaccination clinic will transition to the Agana Shopping Center (ASC) 2nd Floor beginning Monday, March 14, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will run every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. While walk-ins are accepted, residents are urged to make appointments at tinyurl.com/vaxguam

 

Tiyan COVID-19 Testing Schedule Changes Effective Monday, March 14

Due to a decrease in demand, beginning Monday, March 14, 2022, COVID-19 testing at the Old Carnival Grounds in Tiyan, Barrigada will return to four days a week. The new hours of operations will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

COVID-19 Test Results: 120 New Cases of COVID-19 

Today, DPHSS reported 120 new cases of COVID-19 from 614 specimens analyzed on March 10, 2022. 24 of the cases reported today are through the Department of Defense. To date, there have been a total of 46,243 officially reported cases, 337 deaths, 1,724 cases in active isolation, and 44,182 not in active isolation.

SPECIAL NOTE: Based on today's data, if we were to compare two (2) hypothetical populations of 100,000 people each, vaccinated versus unvaccinated, there would be 18 vaccinated people hospitalized for COVID-19 compared to 80 unvaccinated people hospitalized for COVID-19. The risk of being hospitalized for COVID-19 is about 4 times higher for the unvaccinated as compared to the vaccinated. *Estimated population is based on DPHSS Immunization Program analysis of 2020 Census data. Updates are expected pending further Census 2020 data breakdown.

Mangilao mAb Treatment Center 

Monoclonal antibody therapy (mAb) treatment is available at the mAb Treatment Center at the Mangilao Senior Citizens Center. Therapeutic services are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m Monday through Saturday. Patients must receive a referral from a physician to qualify for treatment at this center. To schedule an appointment, call (671) 998-4627. Individuals are encouraged to schedule within 10 days of when symptoms started for best results.

 

Guam COVID-19 Vaccination Update

As of March 10, 2022, a total of 135,383 of Guam’s eligible population (residents 5 years and older) is fully vaccinated. This total includes 13,524 residents 12 – 17 years old. 7,604 residents 5 – 11 years old received their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech two dose series. 5,731 residents 5 – 11 years old have completed their two-dose series. An additional 98 residents received their booster shots and a total of 55,891 booster shots have been administered to eligible residents since September 29, 2021.
