JIC RELEASE NO. 714 - Nine of 511 Test Positive for COVID-19; Two GDOE Students Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues

Results: Nine New Cases of COVID-19
Nine (9) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 511 tests performed Tuesday, June 29. To date, there have been a total of 8,357 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 140 deaths, 89 cases in active isolation, and 8,128 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8. 


Two GDOE Students Test Positive for COVID-19
Today, the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) confirmed that two individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. The two individuals have been identified as siblings who attend B.P. Carbullido Elementary School. GDOE, in collaboration with DPHSS, has identified and notified the individuals who were in close contact. These individuals will remain in quarantine until such time as they are cleared by DPHSS to return to school. Areas of the school campus have been cleaned and disinfected. Face-to-face instruction will continue as scheduled on Thursday, July 1.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and provide government-issued identification to validate age. Minor’s birth certificate is acceptable. Parent/legal guardian must have a government-issued ID. Guardians must also present legal guardianship or power-of-attorney document.

Free COVID-19 Testing Schedule
COVID-19 community testing continues. No symptoms are needed to qualify for testing. Bring a photo ID. Testing for travel purposes will not be conducted at these community testing sites. Individuals seeking COVID-19 testing to travel off-island may contact the DPHSS Northern Region Community Health Center at 635-7525/6 to schedule an appointment. Priority is given to patients under investigation and those traveling for medical purposes. For the safety of the community and nurses, only four (4) people per vehicle are allowed to be tested. Results available onsite. Testing times, dates and locations are below:

The GDOE, State Agency for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Nutrition Service distribution will be available to village constituents only on a first-come, first-served basis. A limit of three households per vehicle will be serviced at the distributions. Face masks must be worn. Bring a photo ID. Village Mayors distribution schedule is as follows:
