Results: One New Case of COVID-19
One (1) new case of COVID-19 was identified out of 217 tests performed on Friday, May 21. To date, there have been a total of 8,132 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 139 deaths, 99 cases in active isolation, and 7,894 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.


Moderna Shipment Arrives
On Friday, May 21, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) received its shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. A total of 10,500 doses were received in good condition as part of Guam’s May allocation.


GDOE Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19
Today, the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) confirmed one case in which an individual tested positive for COVID-19. The individual has been identified as an employee at Tamuning Elementary School. GDOE, in collaboration with DPHSS, is conducting contact tracing to identify and notify individuals who were in close contact with this individual. These individuals will be placed in quarantine and/or isolation until they are cleared by DPHSS. Areas of the school campus have been cleaned and disinfected. Regular hours of operation will continue on Monday, May 24.


COVID-19 Drive-thru Testing and Drive-thru Vaccination Every Wednesday Until June 16
COVID-19 drive-thru testing and drive-thru vaccination clinics are scheduled for Wednesday, May 26 and every Wednesday until June 16, at the Farmers Co-op Market in Dededo on Marine Corps Drive from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. COVID-19 testing will be performed by the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS). COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered by the Guam National Guard.  

 

For COVID-19 testing:

  • Photo ID required
  • No symptoms required for COVID-19 testing
  • Results available on site
  • Testing for travel-related purposes will not be conducted at this site but can be scheduled by calling the DPHSS Northern Region Community Health Center at 635-7525/6
 

For COVID-19 vaccination:

  • Photo ID required
  • Pfizer-BioNTech available for eligible individuals 12 years of age and older who wish to receive their first or second dose
  • Parents or legal guardians must be present for minors to receive the vaccine 
  • Bring your COVID-19 immunization card (Second dose only) 
  • Johnson & Johnson/Janssen available for eligible individuals 18 years of age or older
  • Individuals must not have a current COVID-19 infection and are encouraged to get tested prior to receiving a COVID-19 vaccine
 

Individuals may avail of both COVID-19 testing and the COVID-19 vaccine. In those cases, the COVID-19 test will be administered first. Upon receiving a negative result, the COVID-19 vaccine will be made available. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and provide government-issued identification to validate age. The parent or legal guardian will also be required to sign a consent form on behalf of the minor to be tested or vaccinated for COVID-19. A limit of four participants per vehicle will be observed. Upon arrival, participants must adhere to all traffic directions at the site.

COVID-19 community testing continues. No symptoms are needed to qualify for testing. Bring a photo ID. Testing for travel purposes will not be conducted at these community testing sites. Individuals seeking COVID-19 testing to travel off-island may contact the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) Northern Region Community Health Center at 635-7525/6 to schedule an appointment. For the safety of the community and nurses, only four (4) people per vehicle are allowed to be tested. Testing times, dates and locations are below:

Food Commodities Distribution Continues
GDOE, State Agency for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Nutrition Service distribution will be available to village constituents only on a first-come, first-served basis.
