JIC RELEASE NO. 642 - Five of 414 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED COVID-19 Vaccination Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Continues; DPHSS Reminds Community to Adhere to Sports Guidance

Results: Five New Cases of COVID-19
Five (5) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 414 tests performed on Monday, April 19. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. One (1) case was identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 7,884 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 136 deaths, 49 cases in active isolation, and 7,699 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.5.

Participants will be instructed to enter through the A-wing and directed to exit through the gymnasium after they complete their observation period. FOR: Residents 16 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and provide government-issued identification to validate age. Upon arrival, individuals 60 years and older will be sent to the front of the line.

DPHSS Reminds Community to Adhere to Sports Guidance 
DPHSS would like to remind the community about new protocols authorized under DPHSS Guidance Memo 2021-13, specifically as it relates to sports activities. DPHSS Guidance Memo 2021-13 went into effect on April 16, and states:

Organized sports, non-contact and contact training and competition is authorized with provisions which include, but are not limited to:

  • total number of persons shall be limited to no more than 50% of the occupancy load, which includes no more than 50 spectators in total, regardless of team affiliation – if held indoors 
  • the number of participants is limited to no more than fifty (50) persons with no more than fifty (50) spectators – if held outdoors
  • athletes must wear face masks at all times when not actively participating in athletic activity
  • non-participants, instructors, employees, and parents must wear face masks at all times
