  • Must not have received any other vaccine, such as the flu shot, in the last 14 days

A pre-screening eligibility handout is attached.

*Please note: If this is your first time receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, please make sure you have never taken other COVID-19 vaccine products.

V-Safe Vaccine Symptom Monitoring
Individuals who have received the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to register for the tool called v-safe, offered by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). V-safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccination. Through v-safe, you can quickly tell CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Depending on your answers, someone from CDC may call to check on you. V-safe will remind you to get your second COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one. Sign up for v-safe with your smartphone’s browser at https://vsafe.cdc.gov.

VAPPC Prioritizes 60-74 Age Group for Vaccinations
After meeting on Monday, January 4, 2021, the Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee (VAPPC) has agreed to modify the Phase 1c category to lower the age threshold for adults to 60 to 74 years of age. The previously recommended age group was from 65 to 74.

The VAPPC recognizes that age is a key factor in COVID-19 susceptibility and agrees that many of those who have fallen severely ill or have died due to COVID-19 complications are over the age of 60.

In line with this recommendation, DPHSS will begin immunizing adults 60 to 74 years of age during the three-day vaccination clinic at Okkodo High School beginning January 7, 2021.

During the VAPPC’s fourth virtual meeting, the committee was also informed of Guam’s January vaccine allocation. The DPHSS Immunization Program has been authorized to order 7,800 Pfizer vaccines and 7,200 of the Moderna vaccines for a combined total of 15,000 doses which will fully immunize 7,500 individuals.

DPHSS has partnered with the five Guam Renal Care Centers to train its nurses and staff on the proper procedures for administering the Moderna vaccines to dialysis patients.
