Health care workers are encouraged to present their professional license or work ID.

Tips for those Participating in the Vaccination Clinic

DPHSS will be providing water and light snacks to those waiting in line. However, in anticipation of possible long wait times, here are some tips for patients and their escorts:

  • DPHSS encourages patients to bring their own assistive devices (i.e. wheelchairs, scooters, walkers)

  • Bring a jacket or sweater as the post-observation room can get cold

  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes

VAPPC Continues Discussion on Phase 1b Priority Group

The Vaccine and Antiviral Prioritization Policy Committee (VAPPC) held its third virtual meeting Monday evening, during which the group further defined prioritizing subgroups within the Phase 1b category.

The VAPPC agreed to continue to focus on the 75 years and older age group as well as those who are homebound in that category. While continuing to prioritize this age group, DPHSS will collaborate with GPD to further refine their listing of first responders who are directly exposed to COVID-19 while on duty. In addition to providing safety to the public, the VAPPC recognized the critical functions GPD provides during the pandemic as safety officers at the Government of Guam isolation and quarantine facilities, community testing, and at vaccination clinics, among other pandemic-related functions.

The VAPPC also agreed to prioritize hemodialysis patients at private dialysis clinics. DPHSS will communicate with the private dialysis clinics to schedule their patients for vaccination.
