JIC RELEASE NO. 246 - Cumulative Results: Nine Test Positive for COVID-19; Profiles of Confirmed Cases; Expanded COVID-19 Testing Continues; 2020 Census of Guam Update

COVID-19 test results are reported from multiple labs at varying times of the day. The Joint Information Center will report cumulative COVID-19 test results once a day, unless unavailable.

Out of the nine newly confirmed cases, one tested positive at the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS). Three cases tested positive at Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH). Three cases tested positive at Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS). One case tested positive at Guam Regional Medical City (GRMC). One case tested positive in Indiana. Of the nine newly confirmed cases, four cases had recent travel to the US Mainland.

To date, there have been a total of 368 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 5 deaths, 305 released from isolation, and 58 active cases. Of those cases, 319 are classified as civilians and 49 are military service members.

Expanded COVID-19 Testing Continues on Tuesday at Chalan Pago church grounds
DPHSS, in collaboration with the Government of Guam, the Mayors’ Council of Guam, private, and federal agencies, continues expanded COVID-19 testing. 

Testing is free and open to the public while supplies last. No symptoms are needed to qualify for testing. Please bring an ID, if one is available. The venue for Tuesday’s community testing has been changed to the church grounds of Our Lady of Peace and Safe Journey Catholic Church, along Route 4 in Chalan Pago.

COVID-19 Drive-Through/Walk-In Testing:

  • Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the church grounds of Our Lady of Peace and Safe Journey Catholic Church along Route 4 in Chalan Pago (note, this is a change in venue from the Ordot-Chalan Pago Mayor’s Office).

2020 Census of Guam Update 
The Guam Census Office reminds residents to respond to the 2020 Census of Guam. Residents should call the number of their Notice of Visit to respond. If you have not received a Notice of Visit or misplaced it, please call the Guam Census Office at 645-2020. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Residents may also contact their village call center directly. Call Center hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
