JIC Release No. 24 - UPDATE: Seven additional GDOE schools will open Friday, bringing total number to 30

Please see the following press release announcing that seven additional GDOE schools will open doors to students on Friday, September 14, 2018. 

 

The seven additional schools opening Friday include B.P. Carbullido Elementary School, Daniel L. Perez Elementary School, Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School, Talofofo Elementary School, Agueda I. Johnston Middle School, Simon Sanchez High School and Southern High School. 

 

 

 

SEVEN ADDITIONAL GDOE SCHOOLS WILL OPEN FRIDAY, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF OPEN GDOE SCHOOLS TO 30

 

The Guam Department of Education informs the community that seven additional schools will open on Friday, September 14, 2018, due to the restoration of power. This brings the total number of GDOE schools that will open doors to students tomorrow to 30.

 

The additional schools opening Friday are B.P. Carbullido Elementary School, Daniel L. Perez Elementary School, Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School, Talofofo Elementary School, Agueda I. Johnston Middle School, Simon Sanchez High School and Southern High School.

The full list of schools that will open Friday includes the following:

  1. Adacao Elementary School
  2. Agana Heights Elementary School
  3. Astumbo Elementary School
  4. B.P. Carbullido Elementary School
  5. C.L. Taitano Elementary School
  6. Chief Brodie Memorial Elementary School
  7. Daniel L. Perez Elementary School
  8. Finegayan Elementary School
  9. Juan M. Guerrero Elementary School
  10. J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School
  11. Liguan Elementary School
  12. Maria Ulloa Elementary School
  13. M.U. Lujan Elementary School
  14. Machananao Elementary School
  15. Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School
  16. P.C. Lujan Elementary School
  17. Talofofo Elementary School
  18. Tamuning Elementary School
  19. Upi Elementary School
  20. Wettengel Elementary School
  21. Agueda I. Johnston Middle School
  22. Astumbo Middle School
  23. F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School
  24. Jose Rios Middle School
  25.  Benavente Middle School
  26. George Washington High School
  27. John F. Kennedy High School
  28. Simon Sanchez High School
  29. Southern High School
  30. Tiyan High School

The remaining 11 schools will remain closed pending the resolution of issues including lack of power. The schools that will remain closed on Friday are the following:

  5. Merizo Martyrs’ Memorial Elementary School

  10. J.P. Torres Success Academy
  11. Okkodo High School
