Opening of the Safe Haven Project Delayed

The Safe Haven Project, an initiative to address Guam’s homeless population during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been delayed.

While considerable effort went into opening on Saturday, May 2 at Paseo Stadium, based on recent information garnered from similar projects in other jurisdictions, the site was determined not to be conducive to limiting the spread of COVID-19. Site alternatives are being immediately considered in order to safely accommodate the vulnerable population as quickly as possible. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

For inquiries on COVID-19, contact 311 through a local number, or call the Joint Information Center at (671) 478-0208/09/10.
