Heavy Showers Expected over Southern/Central Guam this Afternoon

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office Guam issued a short-term forecast for Guam. Through 4 p.m., showers and a few thunderstorms are expected over southern/central Guam. Brief, heavy downpours are possible along with occasional lightning. Rainfall of up to one inch is possible.

A thunderstorm advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport until 4 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.

If driving, be alert for near-zero visibility in heavy rain. Watch for ponding of water on the roadways. If outdoors, seek shelter if thunder is heard.
