Heavy Showers Expected this Morning; Practice Caution While Traveling in Rainy Conditions

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam.

Through 9 a.m., a line of heavy showers and thunderstorms will cross Guam from north to south. Up to an inch of rain and frequent lightning with thunderstorms are expected. Be alert for reduced visibilities and ponding of water along roadways if driving. Seek shelter if lightning is seen or thunder is heard. If you cannot seek shelter in a building, move into your vehicle.

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advise the community to practice extreme caution while traveling in rainy conditions, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles.
