GHS/OCD Hosts Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT), will host the Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (PER-275) Training on Wednesday, December 14 through Friday, December 16, 2022, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights.

The three-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and will provide participants with the knowledge, skills and abilities to rapidly deploy and neutralize violent offenders during active shooter incidents or mass casualty incidents in order to prevent the loss of innocent lives.

Note, as part of the practical exercise, trained NCBRT instructors will employ Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA) in order to create a realistic training environment. Attendees and those in the surrounding area can expect to hear sounds of simulated gunshots. All precautions are taken for the safety of the instructors, attendees, and those in the surrounding area.

Attendees for this course include law enforcement and support personnel, range instructors, firearms instructors, school resource officers, first-line supervisors, and persons directly involved in an active shooter response.

While the target audience for the course has been vetted and invited, those interested in participating can visit https://train.ncbrt.lsu.edu/Student/Register?ClassID=29678; Access Code: NCBRT275.
