GHS/OCD Hosts Cybersecurity Training Opportunities

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), will host the following free training opportunities at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights:
  • Monday, May 8, 2023, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Essentials of Community Cybersecurity (AWR-136)
o   The half-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and provides participants with an introduction to concepts related to community cybersecurity.  
o   The target audience for the course include personnel involved with critical infrastructure, emergency operations, and incident response in public or private organizations.

  •  Monday, May 8, 2023, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Tuesday, May 9, 2023, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Community Preparedness for Cyber Incidents (MGT-384)
o   The 12-hour training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is designed to provide organizations and communities with strategies and processes to increase cyber resilience.  
o   The target audience for the course include emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  •   Wednesday, May 10, 2023, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Understanding Targeted Cyber Attacks (AWR-376)
o   The one-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and provides participants with specific information regarding targeted cyber attacks, including advanced persistent threats.
o   The target audience for the course include information security and cybersecurity personnel and managers, critical infrastructure representatives, emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.

  •   Thursday, May 11, 2023, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Physical and Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure (MGT-452)
o   The one-day training is offered at no cost to eligible participants and encourages collaboration efforts among individuals and organizations responsible for both physical and cybersecurity toward development of integrated risk management strategies that lead to enhanced capabilities necessary to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure.
o   The target audience for the course include critical infrastructure representatives, emergency management partners from the government of Guam, military, federal, private, and non-profit organizations.
