GHS/OCD Host Community Planning for Disaster Recovery Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), will host the “Community Planning for Disaster Recovery” training on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the GHS/OCD facility, Agana Heights.

 

The one-day course is offered at no cost to eligible participants and is intended to teach participants key concepts for disaster recovery planning, including the benefits of pre-disaster planning, whole community approach to planning, key elements of plans, and the plan development process. Participants will learn how to initiate disaster recovery plans and participate in the long-term recovery planning process as well as enhance the ability to support the community’s overall disaster readiness through pre-disaster planning for post-disaster recovery.

 

Attendees for the course include emergency management personnel and community volunteers from the Government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.
