Flash Flood Warning in Effect for Guam; Avoid Flooded Roads

The following National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flash flood warning, in effect for Guam until 1:30 a.m.

Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas is expected for northern Guam, north of Barrigada. The heaviest rainfall is likely over Dededo, Yigo and Andersen AFB.

The community is reminded to practice caution on the roadways, driving below the speed limit and allowing enough braking distance between vehicles. Avoided flooded roads.
