Fire Weather Watch in Effect; Outdoor Burning is Not Recommended

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office advised gusty winds and dry vegetation will maintain a high fire threat.

fire weather watch is in effect through Wednesday afternoon for Guam. East winds of 10 to 20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph possible, and humidity at 50 to 60 percent, especially from late morning though sunset, are expected. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

high risk of rip currents is in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan through late Tuesday night for east facing reefs of the Marianas. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. If caught in a rip current, do not swim against the current. Swim in a direction following the shoreline, face the shore and call or wave for help.
