4:00 a.m. No Tsunami Threat to Marianas from Japan Earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 that occurred 74 km ENE of Misawa, Japan, with a depth of 44.1 km, at 12:15 a.m. (ChST).

 As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there was no tsunami threat to Guam and the CNMI from this earthquake.  

This will be the final statement issued by GHS/OCD unless additional information is received.
