At this time, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center continues to rate 92W as LOW, meaning the potential for development of a significant tropical cyclone is unlikely within the next 24 hours.
Guam can expect partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through this evening.
A flash flood warning is in effect for south Guam through 1:45 p.m. Flash flooding caused by heavy rain is expected for small creeks and streams, urban areas, streets, and poor drainage and low-lying areas.
A flood advisory is in effect for all of Guam until 1:45 p.m. this afternoon. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected.
Residents and visitors are advised to take the following precautionary actions:
- Those living in flood-prone areas should take action; clear drainage areas and unblock storm drains to minimize flooding;
- Stay up to date with the latest weather information;
- When driving in heavy rain, be alert for low visibilities and slippery roads;
- Slow down where water is ponding on the road.
A thunderstorm advisory is in effect for the Guam International Airport until 3 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible within 20 nautical miles of the airport. Be alert and take precautions as required. Remain indoors if lightning is seen or thunder is heard.
