The Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) invites the public to the National Preparedness Month Grand Finale Outreach Fair on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Micronesia Mall Center Court. The free, family-friendly event is the capstone of Guam's observance of National Preparedness Month and gives residents the chance to meet the agencies that help keep Guam safe and to learn simple steps to prepare for emergencies.
Event Details
The fair brings together local and federal agencies, along with community organizations — including nonprofits such as the American Red Cross and AmeriCorps — to share preparedness information, host live demonstrations, and offer hands-on activities and giveaways for the whole family. Visitors can learn the four steps everyone can take to be ready: make a plan, build a kit, know your alerts, and get involved. The 2026 National Preparedness Month theme is "Americans Stand Ready."
The event is co-hosted with the National Weather Service and Tower for Humanity, whose 25-foot replica of the World Trade Center Twin Towers stands in the Center Court in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. It is presented in partnership with federal, military, and community organizations.
"Here on Guam, readiness is a way of life," said Homeland Security Advisor Esther J.C. Aguigui. "This event is a chance for our whole community to come together, meet the partners who respond in times of need, and take that next step toward being ready — starting at home."
GHS/OCD encourages all residents to come out, bring the family, and take part. For preparedness information, visit ghs.guam.gov or contact GHS/OCD at 475-9600. For the 2026 National Preparedness Month campaign, visit ready.gov/september.
