Thunderstorm Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a thunderstorm advisory, in effect for the Guam International Airport Authority until 4 p.m. this afternoon. Thunderstorms are possible or occurring within 20 nautical miles of the airport.
 

Flood Advisory in Effect; Practice Caution in Heavy Rain

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flood advisory, in effect for southern and central parts of Guam until 3 p.m. this afternoon. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected. Between 0.4 and 1.2 inches of rain has already fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches is expected.
   

Flood Advisory and High Lightning Risk in Effect; Remain Out of the Water

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flood advisory for Guam, in effect until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected. Between 0.6 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area.
 
   

No Immediate Threat to Marianas Assessed from Reported North Korea Launch

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, continue to monitor events surrounding the region including reports of the recent launch of an unidentified projectile out of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a flood advisory for Guam, in effect until 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected. Between 1 and 1.4 inches of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area.
