2020 Service Learning, and Youth and Community Preparedness Summit

The Guam Department of Education (DOE), in collaboration with the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), the Youth Preparedness Program, the Service Leaning Committee, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), will host the 2020 Service Learning, and Youth and Community Preparedness Summit over the course of three days.

Unofficial Message Circulating on Social Media

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) and the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC) received reports of an unofficial message circulating through chat groups and social media highlighting that “international tensions are high” and prompting people to take action in light of the current situation between the United States and Iran.

One Month Left to Apply for SBA Disaster Loans

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West today reminded Guam private nonprofit organizations of the Feb. 7, 2020, deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury caused by Typhoon Wutip that occurred Feb. 23-25, 2019.  Private nonprofits that provide essential services of a governmental nature are eligible for assistance.
