Flash Flood Warning in Effect; Practice Caution in Heavy Rain

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office has issued a flash flood warning for Guam, in effect until noon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain across the area. Between 0.4 and 1 inch of rain has already fallen. The expected rainfall rate is around 1.5 inch per 1 hour.

 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 728 - Eight of 710 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule

Eight (8) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 710 tests performed on July 19. One (1) case reported recent travel history and was identified in quarantine. To date, there have been a total of 8,486 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 143 deaths, 55 cases in active isolation, and 8,288 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.1. 

 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 727 - 143rd COVID-19-Related Fatality Reported; One of 650 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; UOG Fieldhouse Vaccination Clinic to Close July 31

The Joint Information Center (JIC) was notified that Guam’s 143rd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021. The patient was a 75-year-old female, vaccinated, with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on July 7, 2021. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 726 - COVID-19 Vaccination Data Update; Four of 290 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; SNAP Supplemental Emergency Allotment (EA) Issuances for July 2021

“As Guam continues its goal of attaining 80% ‘herd immunity’ of its adult population to COVID-19, data indicates that certain ethnic groups must stand and be counted in the fight against COVID-19. Data also shows that unvaccinated individuals are at the greatest risk of spreading COVID-19, severe illness, and death,” said Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) Director Art San Agustin. 
   

JIC RELEASE NO. 725 - Two of 479 Test Positive for COVID-19; UPDATED: COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Schedule; Food Commodities Distribution Schedule

Two (2) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 479 tests performed on July 14. To date, there have been a total of 8,473 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 142 deaths, 109 cases in active isolation, and 8,222 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.
