Guam COVID-19 vaccination update: As of August 6, a total of 104,216 or 76.46% of Guam’s eligible population (residents 12 years and older) have received either both doses in the two-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna), or the single dose series (Johnson & Johnson/Janssen) of the COVID-19 vaccine. This percentage includes 7,422 fully vaccinated residents between the ages of 12 – 17, as well as Guam's fully vaccinated adult population of 96,794.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office issued a short term forecast for Guam and Rota and their coastal waters. Through 5 p.m., showers and possibly a brief thunderstorm is expected across Guam and Rota, with rain briefly heavy at times. Up to an inch of rain is possible, with brief flooding of roads and low-lying areas.

Today, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) issued DPHSS Guidance Memo 2021-09 Revision 2, relative to additional guidance pursuant to Governor Leon Guerrero’s Executive Order 2021-16, relative to providing clarification for schools adopting the three (3) feet physical distancing for in-class operations for K-12 schools (Schools). In addition, layered mitigation strategies to help prevent and control COVID-19 transmission in schools will be outlined in this Guidance.

Thirty (30) new cases of COVID-19 were identified out of 669 tests performed on August 3. Six (6) cases were identified through contact tracing. To date, there have been a total of 8,623 officially reported cases of COVID-19 with 143 deaths, 119 cases in active isolation, and 8,361 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 3.0.
