Typhoon Warning Continues for Guam, Updated Weather Forecast
 
Guam remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 2 as Guam continues to be under a Typhoon Warning. The island continues to experience prolonged weather effects, including heavy rain bands and damaging wind gusts, which are expected to persist throughout the day.

Hazardous Weather Through Monday:
At 3:27 a.m. the National Weather Service provided a forecast update to the Government of Guam. According to NWS, Guam can expect:

● Hazardous weather conditions, including tropical storm force winds of 135 mph or more, are expected late Monday afternoon.
● Sustained tropical storm force winds were expected to begin yesterday late afternoon and typhoon force winds early Monday morning.
● Damaging, tropical storm force winds, sustained at 135 to 150 mph, with gusts up to 200 mph, and heavy rain are expected from early Monday morning to Tuesday night.
● The closest point of approach will be Monday morning.

High Surf & Coastal Flood Watch Advisory:
High surf advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. CHST Thursday. Expect large breaking waves of 25 to 35 feet in the surf zone. Numerous roads may be closed as low lying areas may get overwhelmed. Additionally a flood watch is still in effect for all of Guam.

Stay out of the water; conditions are life threatening. Dangerous sea conditions are expected to last until Thursday.
