Super Typhoon Bavi has made its closest point of approach to Guam, and the island remains in Condition of Readiness (COR) 1. All military bases remain in Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 1. Remain indoors and off the roads until COR 4 is announced.
REMAIN INDOORS – Impassable Roadways Reported
Several roadways and areas have been reported as impassable due to flooding, fallen trees, downed utility lines, rockslides, and other storm-related damage. Do not attempt to drive around barricades or through flooded roadways.
Portion of Marine Corps Drive Closed for Safety
The Guam Police Department (GPD) has reported that a portion of Route 1 Marine Corps Drive from Shell East Agana to Alupang Pavilion is closed to allow the Department of Public Works (DPW) to clear debris and restore safe access. An update will be provided once available.
Route 11 (Port Access Road)
Route 11 (Port Access Road) is currently impassable due to storm-related debris. DPW and Black Construction will begin clearing the roadway as soon as conditions are safe.
Reopening Route 11 is a top priority, as it provides critical access to the Port, fuel facilities, and other essential infrastructure needed to support the movement of fuel, cargo, and emergency supplies.
