Tier II Shelter Opens in Chalan Pago Ordot Today
The Chalan Pago-Ordot Community Center has been certified as a Tier II shelter and is open as of July 14, 2026, to support residents who continue to need temporary shelter following Typhoon Bavi. The facility can accommodate up to 250 residents.

Individuals and families who remain at other emergency shelters or continue to seek shelter will be relocated to the Chalan Pago-Ordot facility. The shelter is being managed by the American Red Cross to ensure residents receive continued care and support during the recovery period.

Several government agencies, including the Department of Public Health and Social Services, are present at the shelter to provide health services, transition assistance, and other support to shelter residents.


Parks and Recreational Facilities Update
The Department of Parks and Recreation continues to reopen facilities and restore public spaces following Typhoon Bavi. The Northern Sports Complex gym is now open, with summer camp activities currently underway, while the Northern Sports Complex pool is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, July 16. 

Ypao Beach is also open, although cleanup and repair work remains ongoing. Portions of the beach on the Hilton side remain barricaded, and residents are asked to avoid restricted areas. Matapang Beach will be the department’s next area of focus.

At the Paseo Peninsula, which was heavily impacted by the storm, the parking lot and roadway have reopened. Crews continue clearing debris from the park and the surrounding Fishermen’s Co-Op areas. 


Next Food Commodity Distribution: Thursday, July 16 at Yigo
The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) handed out approximately 660 bags of food commodities today during the drive-through distribution at Adelup. The distributions are intended to assist households affected by food loss following Super Typhoon Bavi, including those receiving SNAP, Medicaid, MIP, or with limited resources. 

The next food commodity distribution will be held on Thursday, July 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Yigo gym. An additional food distribution is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m at the Malojloj Social Hall. Both events will be conducted by drive-through while supplies last.

Individuals may be asked to provide identification and must complete a brief form to confirm household eligibility at the time of distribution. Households experiencing need are encouraged to attend.


Northern Region Community Health Center Re-Opens; Extended Hours
The Northern Region Community Health Centers has resumed services and will offer extended walk-in hours through Friday, July 17, 2026. Extended hours are available from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for non-emergency medical concerns and follow-up care. New patients and walk-ins are welcome.

Regular clinic services will continue Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pharmacy and laboratory services will not be available during the extended hours. Patients may contact the Northern Region Community Health Center at (671) 635-7412.

The Southern Region Community Health Center in Inalåhan also remains open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing care for patients of all ages. The center can be reached at (671) 828-7511.
