Typhoon Debris Waste Disposal Sites Update:

As a reminder, effective Wednesday, June 21, 2023 through Wednesday, July 5, 2023, the three Typhoon Mawar disaster debris disposal sites will be operational:

  • Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Saturday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

The updated hours will impact sites at the old transfer station in Dededo, the former Tiyan carnival grounds in Barrigada and Ypao Point in Tamuning. The change in hours is to allow the Department of Public Works to increase site capacity and to ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards.

During this time, Government of Guam agencies and departments will continue to have access to the disaster debris disposal sites from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Junk tires are no longer being accepted at this time. The community is reminded to PROPERLY SECURE WASTE LOADS BEFORE traveling to any disposal site. To ensure efficient flow at each typhoon debris disposal site, the public is advised toPRE-SORT AND SEGREGATEwaste prior to arrival at the sites. Capacities at each site vary, and some waste types may be diverted to other sites with more capacity.

Guam Environmental Protection Agency personnel and Americorps, Serve Guam Commission volunteers are on-site to inspect debris loads, and waste types not approved for disposal at these three sites will be rejected. The identification, transportation and disposal of household hazardous waste is made possible through the coordination of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

 

Green Waste Disposal Sites Update:

The Government of Guam’s green waste transition sites are open for residential green waste disposal from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., 7 days a week.These sites accept only green waste, vegetative waste, and yard trimmings.All other disaster debris including, but not limited to metallic waste, white goods, bulky household waste, household hazardous waste, and household trash will be REJECTED. Note the following site locations capacity update as of June 19, 1 p.m.:
