GHS/OCD Host Tsunami Awareness Training

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in coordination with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), will host the Tsunami Awareness (AWR-217) training on April 3, 2018 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the University of Guam, School of Business & Public Administration.

The AWR-217 course will enhance attendees’ abilities to support respective organizations’ tsunami preparedness and response effort; and provide a better understanding of the tsunami hazard, current hazard assessment tools and products, tsunami warning and dissemination systems and methods, and methods of community response to local and distant tsunamis.

Attendees for this course include emergency management personnel from the Government of Guam, federal, military, private, and non-profit organizations.
