The Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) advises residents that the National Weather Service (NWS) Guam has issued a Flood Advisory for Northern Guam, in effect until 4:00 p.m. ChST today, Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Current Status
Urban-area and small-stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Minor flooding may occur in low-lying and poor drainage areas, including water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

At 2:05 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Some locations that will experience flooding include Dededo, Tamuning, Yigo, Mangilao, Barrigada, Andersen AFB, and Mongmong-Toto-Maite.

What You Should Do Now
Residents and motorists are advised to take the following precautions:
Do not drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

GHS/OCD continues to monitor conditions in coordination with NWS Guam and will provide additional information as needed.
