The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) along with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), continue to receive reports of local telephone numbers receiving suspicious calls and messages or reported phishing scams from local, domestic and unusual or unexpected international area codes.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), in conjunction with the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), will host the Tsunami Awareness (AWR-217) training on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the GHS/OCD facility in Agana Heights.
The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office advised gusty winds and dry vegetation will maintain a high fire threat.
A red flag warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday for extreme fire weather danger for Guam. East winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph over higher terrain, and humidity at 50 to 60 percent are expected. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Conditions will ease during nighttime hours, then return during the day. Refrain from outdoor burning.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake
As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to the Marianas from the earthquake. There were no major damages or injuries for Guam reported from the earthquake.
